A little girl in a big hat, examining a grasshopper with her rake. Turn it around — she's carrying an umbrella and a basket overflowing with carrots. This is autumn in ceramic form, and it is genuinely rare.
This porcelain beer stein was made by Gerold Porzellan in West Germany, model #5810, stamped with the Gerold mark used in the 1940s. Since the mark reads "West Germany" and Tettau Bavaria became part of West Germany in 1948, this piece dates to around that time — making it over 75 years old. Made by craftsmen working in the same tradition as Meissen masters, with the quality to match.
Perfect for fall harvest décor, a children's room display, a Gerold Porzellan collection, or simply as a beautifully made antique stein for a bar or shelf.
Gerold Porzellan was founded in 1904 in Tettau, Bavaria, by Bernhard Gerold, Nicol Krauss, and August Gerold. Over its nearly century-long history the company produced over 12,000 items before eventually becoming part of the Seltmann Weiden Group in the early 2000s. Under the Gerold name, they remain highly regarded collectibles today.
